Kisah Para Rasul 21:35
Konteks21:35 When he came to the steps, Paul 5 had to be carried 6 by the soldiers because of the violence 7 of the mob,
[2:32] 1 tn Or “of him”; Grk “of which [or whom] we are all witnesses” (Acts 1:8).
[4:28] 2 tn Grk “hand,” here a metaphor for God’s strength or power or authority.
[4:28] 3 tn Or “purpose,” “will.”
[4:28] 4 tn Or “had predestined.” Since the term “predestine” is something of a technical theological term, not in wide usage in contemporary English, the translation “decide beforehand” was used instead (see L&N 30.84). God’s direction remains as the major theme.
[21:35] 5 tn Grk “he”; the referent (Paul) has been specified in the translation for clarity.
[21:35] 6 sn Paul had to be carried. Note how the arrest really ended up protecting Paul. The crowd is portrayed as irrational at this point.
[21:35] 7 tn This refers to mob violence (BDAG 175 s.v. βία b).
